Virgin Atlantic has announced plans to expand its codeshare with Canadian airline WestJet ahead of relaunching flights between London Heathrow and Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The UK carrier is due to restart daily London-Toronto flights on 30 March, which will be its first route to Canada in more than a decade.
Virgin Atlantic will codeshare with WestJet on routes from Toronto Pearson to 13 Canadian destinations from 30 March, including Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Ottawa. The two carriers will also co-locate at Toronto Pearson’s Terminal 3.
Juha Jarvinen, chief commercial officer at Virgin Atlantic, said: “This expanded partnership with WestJet, alongside our partners at Delta Air Lines, Air France and KLM, will create seamless connectivity for our customers via our new route launching between Toronto and London.
WestJet’s chief commercial officer John Weatherill added: “We are thrilled to enhance our partnership with Virgin Atlantic and support their return to Canada. As the first phase of this expansion, we are excited to welcome guests from across Virgin Atlantic’s global network by providing connectivity across Canada with WestJet.”
