Finnair has successfully completed the €200 million rollout of its new cabins on all long-haul aircraft.
The carrier, which started introducing the new business class and premium economy cabins in 2022, said the new product had now been introduced on its entire fleet of Airbus A350s and A330s, which fly from Helsinki to the US, Middle East and Asia. Finnair has also refreshed its economy cabins on these aircraft.
Finnair’s new AirLounge business class seat, developed with Collins Aerospace, features a contoured, cocoon-like shell seat in a 1-2-1 configuration. While premium economy seats offer a 38-inch pitch in either a 2-4-2 or 2-3-2 configuration depending on the aircraft.
Ole Orvér, chief commercial officer of Finnair, said: “Since its launch in 2022, customer feedback on our revolutionary business class seat and brand-new premium economy cabin has been excellent, so we are proud to be able to offer the renewed cabin on flights to all our long-haul destinations.
“We also know our customers value consistency and reliability, so to offer a uniform cabin concept across our whole fleet is a huge step on our customer experience journey. Customer satisfaction with our long-haul cabins has increased significantly with the cabin renewal.”
Having completed this project, Finnair is now set to renew the cabins of its regional E190 short-haul aircraft. The airline will also soon open a new larger lounge within the Schengen area of Helsinki airport for business class travellers and Finnair Plus tier members.
